Is there any difference in the effective power of the German Mauser 8mm round (.323) and the US 30-06 round?

I've used both on deer. The Sellier and Bellot 196 grain SPCE 8mm Mauser round has truly awesome penetration and expansion, whereas the 30-06 using a 150 grain SPCE gives average performance."The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. Yes, they do. I use a 180 grain Federal Nosler Partition 30-06 round, but the expansion on that is average."The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes." G-Man

To figure out exact energy at any given range you need to know the projectile's velocity at the range you wish to figure KE for, and your exact altitude(plus you need a barometric pressure converision table).
Using the formula i posted above, you can do that.
Here it is again:
"to determine KE multiply the weight of the projectile x velocity2, divided by 2, divided by 7000(there are 7000 grains to a lb), divided by 32.16(atmospheric pressure at sea level)."
