Is CADPAT realy so highly effective and superior over others like woodland or is it just hyped. And why came the canadians so late with such a highly developed and expensive(?) camo? Since ww2, uniforms printed with camo are nothing new while thermal/if-optics seems to becoming more and more common.

I heard the digital uniforms of the U.S. Marine Core are based off the Canadian CADPAT.

It's been tested only on the human eye but it's the most effective one to date. Don't know how effective it is against game.

Wasn't a priority and the pattern was only a subset of an overall redesign of the battledress, including new clothing material and body armour.

All camo, no matter what the pattern looks the same after two days in the field - dirty.

The USMC disagrees. They had a digital pattern on their vehicles long before the CF started Project Management Office Clothe the Soldier.
