  • Iran's fist domestically manufactured combat aircraft

Can somebody tell me more about this plane?
Even on www.fas.org they have only limited info about this irani plane.
And is it comparable with american planes?

This new plane...the Azarakhrash could make for a more target rich environment for our F-15's and F-22's than the rickety old F-14's they kept when the mullahs took over.

I don't think those f-14's have been airworthy for years. Where would they get the parts?

So by Wikipedia's numbers they are likely to have about 50 of these?

The F-14s still fly. The Iranians have reverse engineered them to keep them flying.

The Iranians gained a few F-14 part blueprints after the Irangate affiar, what is unlikely is that these planes have any American missiles as shelf life effect has long taken effect.

The new Iranian plane has been in the media for a few years now, not a single test flight has taken place.

Oh, I didn't know that. I wonder how many they have in operation.
