Deportation of Pakistanis

Large-scale deportations of Pakistanis from all over the world continues even when the officials here never tire of promising more jobs for Pakistanis abroad. There is plenty of evidence that the trend of sending Pakistanis home has picked up after the identification of their country as a hotbed for extremist ideas. The irony is that the brother Muslim countries we depend so much on, and which have been so instrumental in imbibing young Pakistani minds, and the society here as a whole, with radical Islamic thought, are in the lead when it comes to expelling Pakistani citizens from their land.

The National Assembly has just been told that no less than 139,000 Pakistanis have been deported in the last two years from 47 countries across the world. According to the Foreign Office these deportations were due to illegal entry, overstaying the stipulated period of visa and work permits, and court convictions. Stay on forged documents and employment without fulfilling the prerequisites such as having a local sponsor were also listed as reasons.

Most Pakistanis have been expelled from the Middle Eastern countries: from Saudi Arabia (51,195), the United Arab Emirates (32,503), Oman (20,388) and Iran (15, 849). 50 Pakistanis were deported from Bahrain, 507 from Kuwait, 200 from Qatar, 82 from Yemen, 22 from Jordan, 12 from Iraq, 33 from Syria, 45 from Egypt and 370 from Libya.

Although it is a proof of the suspicions the Pakistani identity raises in foreign lands, the list is truly reflective of our countrymen's desire to leave, regardless of the destination. While 1,727 Pakistanis have returned home in the last couple of years after they hit a wall in South Africa, 13 Pakistanis have been sent back from Serbia and Montenegro. Now there must be something in Montenegro that appeals to people from this part of the world -- something that they found missing at home.

Surely, a big chunk of these 139,000 returnees have been the victims of the human smuggling racket operating unhindered in the country for so long. It may be difficult to identify all the Pakistanis wanting a life away from the tough local realities, and perhaps no amount of persuasion will make them give up their dreams. But the illegal channel can be effectively blocked by cracking down on those who forge travel documents and use other means to send people abroad.

Zia is the biggest idiot.

Pakistanis are suffering because of his follies of allowing terror factories for short term gains.

Why should the future generations of Paksitanis suffer and that too from those countries for whom they acted as the vanguard of Islam?

Ungrateful wretches these other countries and they call this ummah!

Zia wanted to bleed India by a thousand cuts, today India is more powerful both economically and millitarily than in the 1980s and Pakistan has never been able to get a single inch of Indian Kashmir. On the other hand the thousands of Jehadis are getting restless in pakistan, they need to blow up something, afterall how else can they get their perverted hands on 70 virgins.

Its really ironic isn't it, the mullahs tell women to cover every single inch of their body but then cant wait to die a Jehadi so they get 70 Virgins to feasttheir perversions on.

No, honestly I dislike Zia immensely.

He has screwed up Pakistan beyond recognition.

Because of his idiotic policies of Islamisation with a shovel, Pakistna bleed morally, socially, legally and even militarily.

The Pakistanis are up in arms with the Opposition wanting to go on strike and paralyse the country and they will do it since their slogan is that US is tunning the country!

Let's be pragmatic. It's Musharraf or bust!

Can't have a goatee Mullahman with baggy pants and swaying you know what for negotiation to bring peace!

It stormy weather they may clash together and sparks may come out of the Mullah's ****! ;)
