Gayest thing ever? Soccer? Hah! not even close, I tell you what's gay, the WWE world wrestling macho crap. I watched and it was first and last time of it, absolute garbage all the way.

Soccer is also the most boring sport ever, with the possible exception of golf, which in my opinion is not a sport at all.

The wrestling stuff is fake. It's TRYING to be that gay. Soccer is that gay and it's not even trying.

Maybe they could make the fields bigger, huh? Right now there's so much action I can barely keep up.

damn snipe, that was harsh.

no iker cassilas aint the best ever. Peter Schmeichel of manutd was real good too. David Seaman (save his world cup performance) is worth a mention. gianluggi buffon (sp?) is also pretty good.

iker seems to put up a consistent performance all the time.

just what is so gay about soccer? is the fact that its not manly? because that is the lame excuse i hear from "football" fans. they dont consider the fact that football players wear enough pads and cushions to stop a bullet and get sissy breaks every few minutes.

if the soccer you're watching is the MLS (american soccer league), then the answer is NO, you wont be getting too much action. the quality of players we have isn't too good.

Uh, dude, have you watched it? The Euro kind? A bunch of skinny fluffy guys prancing around a field the size of Wyoming for 4 hours. And when one of them trips he acts like he stepped in a bear trap.

And then there's the hugging. :)

But of course I'm poking fun. All sports have their adherents and me making fun of it doesn't mean a darned thing.

But yeah, to most Americans it looks pretty gay.

Living so close to the border, there is a lot of soccer (futbol) playing among the Hispanics here. They act as if it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I couldn't stand it when I was in school.

It's a cultural thing. In my high school team (I was a Capt), most of the guys were either Irish (celtic fans), Hispanic (real madrid fans), or Italian (A.C Milan etc). We're pretty passionate about it. Like everyone else and their sports. Just wait until the World Cup arrives (Germany, 2006).

football is the most popular sports the world has ever seen.

Probably the football bashers dont understand the game, let them restrict their comments to rugby or baseball.

seaman, buffon, peter all had a very good defensive shield, and iker lacks that.Reals defence is the most spineless.

We understand it just fine - there is running and kicking and falling down and clutching one's knee and crying and then bouncing up and running some more...

For 4 hours on a giant field while people are chanting vile obscenities in the stands, rioting in the streets outside, and murdering players who screw up the Big Game. It's the very height of European and international culture - we understand it quite well and you are welcome to it. :)

Actually, this is what I typed once - I think in this forum - when challenged about hockey vs. soccer:

"Really. Unlike soccer, hockey players know where the puck is and where it is going. To find the puck you watch the players.

I know that's different than "footie", where half the team stands around in their shorts looking gay, the other half rolls around on the ground in great pain after having been tripped onto the soft grass, and the fans swarm the field looking for someone to stab."

I have a vision. I see a retired Indian Army Brigadier lining liebstandarte10 up through the sights of his rifle. I see him squeeze off the shot. Hole in one! I see the Brigadier retiring to the 19th hole while the greenkeeper cleans up the mess....

Has anyone noticed the two most boring games were made in the Britain - Golf and Cricket (but then this is religion in India).
Indians out did everyone by inventing Chess - most boring sport category.
