  • Bombers Obsolete!

The days of bombers are fading.

They have no use, and are easily replacable by a good ICBM system.

I'm sure all of you would agree with me?

    For nuclear warfare, sure.

Sure would love to see an ICBM drop 108x 750lb weapons on a troop concentration like just one B-52 can. :)

If money is focused on putting a laser on the moon, it will be done.

      Just need money.

          even women <puts on glass>

          first you get the sugar

          then you get the money

          then you get the power

          then you get the women

LOL, that quote was hijacked from Al Pacino in "Scarface".

From the days of precision bombing in WWII to Arc Light's in Vietnam, nothing is as effective or can replace the heavy bomber.

Except for a Battleships firing GPS guided SCRAMJet rounds out to 1000 nm.

Yeah, but then your ability to strike would be compromised by the Earth's rotation and the moon's orbit.

ICBM's are not precision weapons. If an ICBM was targeted at a city center, it could fall anywhere in a 5 mile radius.

Actually, some ICBM's are pretty precise. The Minuteman III, Peacekeeper and Trident D-5 lead the list.

The CEP of the Peacekeeper was something like 200 meters...

The MIRVs are what is that acurate not the missile itself.

We are making some ICBM type deal that can strike anywhere in the world in like 40 minutes with conventional munitions. This will be a precurser to the Hypersonic Bomber they want by 2025.

The missile thing will be used to take out high priority targets. If we had something like this we could have gotten Saddam, instead we had to use a Tomahawk which took over an hour to get there.

A hypersonic cruise missile(or a battleship's scramshells) would be a lot more cost effective.

                          ICBM's are extremely expensive.

That's still about 600 feet. We have bombs we can put right through a window from fighter jets.

600 feet is extremely precise when the warhead is measured by Kt.
