Apparently Turret 82 from USS Louisville (CA-28) that was removed and replaced in Feb/Mar 1945 is sitting in the desert of Nevada and was used for an instrument platform for some nuke tests.
Are there any other "lost" relics like this out there?
How long did they keep stuff like this at the Navy Yard Junkyards?
Any chance of this being moved and restored?
Are there any 8" Mk 9, 10, 11, 13 or 14 guns still laying around to allow it to be restored?
