    SUMMARY
    Late Sunday night, May 1, President Barack Obama announced the dramatic news that Osama bin Laden had been killed by US forces. Contrary to widespread belief, bin Laden was not hiding away in a cave in Pakistan's tribal regions. Instead, the world's most wanted man was living comfortably in a million-dollar compound in Abbottabad, an affluent town that retired Pakistani military officers call home. Could the Pakistanis have been oblivious to bin Laden's presence in a conspicuous home only sixty miles from Islamabad? Did they cooperate with the operation to kill bin Laden? Will the killing of bin Laden strain the US-Pakistani relationship further?
