In other words he has said that almost the whole Pakistani nation is expendable...

    He sounds like medieval Hashshashin.

Sure, everything/everybody is expendable in the furtherance of their cause. Getting rid of the foreign devils in Afghanistan is a handy recruitment tool, but the expansion of their twisted image of Islam isn't going to go into stasis if NATO vacates Afghanistan.

"the expansion of their twisted image of Islam isn't going to go into stasis if NATO vacates Afghanistan."

Too true. Useful fools will continue being exploited to advance other ends.

If you get a chance try and find the documentary 'The Cult of the Suicide Bomber' by Robert Baier. Caught it on Nat geo the other day and it was quite enlightening. The host is fluent in Arabic so nothing gets lost in translation.

He believes he's like a soldier, taking one for the cause, the ultimate sacrifice.

In the program mentioned above, the host interviews some in an Israeli jail, these would be the ones that for some reason did not succeed, one learns they consider the term suicide to be a misnomer, only used by their opponents to describe them. If given a second chance they would not refuse the offer to do it again.

Not a "few fools" but the whole majority who would fight among themselves. A majority who would view an intolerable view as an acceptable view. Why do you think the generals started radicalising the education and social system in the first place? They are sort of an unofficial army who assume that they are defending a religion when in fact, they are actually defending their "national" army.

But there is always a cost. Wait till the americans draw down from afpak and replace it with increased drone strikes and similar operations. In obama wars, zardari was talking about how the drones only target the west-centric militants and leave the pakistan-centric one's alone. lol. Todays taliban has become more ambitious. A taliban that isn't busy with america will get busy somewhere else.

And useless fools in the liberal west will continue to search for justification that the suicide bombers are actually, noble freedom fighters.

Lee Harris's book, The Suicide of Reason poses ideas that we will eventually will have to consider, regardless of how uncomfortable.

Tollerance and endless forbearance left without without occaisional KPI assesment equates I think, to our own suicide pact.
