  • Mig-31's where are they?

    Hey guys,

Am new here, just wanted to know what happened to the Mig-31's There was some talk that it could track 10 objects at a time and attack 4 of them. they were twice as expensive as say a mig-29. Which countries have them, does India have one.

The F-14 can engage six targets at a time; the Mig-31 is still not entirely matched for US aircraft.
    And welcome to WAB.

they are some $40-50 million per model, and only Russia has them, they are not allowing any other nation to procure this model, even thoguh they've already asked China and India if they want Foxhounds

"that would depend on the role for which u want to use the two."

They're both interceptors, but the Tomcat is a much better 'knife fighter', and has a much more capable strike function.

The Mig-31 is pure interceptor, but the F-14D despite lower actual flight performance(talking speed and altitude) actually was still the better interceptor because of it's APG-71(AWG-9) radar and the mighty AIM-54C Phoenix missile.
