I just recieved the EXCELLENT Janusz Skulski YAMATO book from Amazon
quite possibly the most extensively illustrated book on a Battleship I have ever seen and I have an extensive library, I wish Janusz would make a similar book on the Iowa class
Unlike Yamatos the Iowa's uptakes and intakes were spread apart in 8 groups while Yamatos were concentrated in one central area where there is a 15" thick MNC armor plate with 7" holes over 55% of the plate protecting the uptakes and intakes.............
I was wondering what the Iowa class has by way of armor protecting her uptakes and intakes, if any?
And a discussion on who's design was better Ie. more survivable in case of a similar AP hit?
