Having trolled through and through, Can anyone help re linking to specific posts in threads. My bookmarks are getting out of control inevitably loosing posts I liked reading or using - particularly the protocol ones?

Does it have something to do with the permalink feature? I have tried stuffing around to no avail. Recently having to do a re-install my once were bookmarks now seem useless :(

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you're trying to accomplish...can you give me a specific example(s)?

Also, when you say "protocol" what are you referring to?

Sorry - I was wondering whether there are ways you can link to a specific post in a thread - I see others do it from time to time. For instance if If we had a conversation about X, and in thread Y something relevant to a post someone made in thread X comes up I can link to that specific post.

"Protocol" is what I like to note with my bookmarks. For instance my WAB bookmark is in my Politics section In turn it has a subset folder for particular links on the board. Most of these are professional/academic viewpoints that are quite invaluable on forming a perception, IE, I have lost posts in the past that JAD/Astralis/Shek/Zraver/OoE make that I have lost to the depths of hard drive crashes, although trying to use the search function often doesn't help me hence the book marking.

For instance, if one of the aforementioned made a post on closing Gitmo that turned into a thread about torture, and say JAD made a point, if I typed in JAD/Gitmo JAD/Torture Gitmo/Torture the search wouldn't necessarily bring it up Or it might bring up three threads with 15 Pages each, then the problem is linking to the post in the thread so when I reference it People can't really follow my thought process because it does not link to a specific post...

Occasionally when someone gives a different perspective also especially from a professional viewpoint that alters my take considerably on a given situation - Invariably I need to substantiate it, or remind myself, which I can't do because I can no longer find the particular post. Which makes me look like more of a dork than I am already :)

Cheers, After stuffing around with it (right click and create bookmark) it's solved a lot of my problems. Previously i was just clicking on it and it did nothing.
