  • Identify the Map Quiz

Here's how this works. The person who identifies the map (or what it represents), gets to upload a new map for someone else to identify.

    So, for the first map:

I'm guessing countries that drive on the left hand side of the road?

              Great idea.
I enjoy being wrong too much to change my mind.

Let me try one: A global subject I am very concerned about. The data is about 20 years old, so a more modern map may be more "interesting".

                    De(re-)forestation.

You got it. DE forestation. A subject that concerns me very much. I'm sure a later map would show much more at the southern tip of South America that causes the hole in the Ozone layer.

Ozone (O3) is created by lightning by fusing standard O2 molecules with free O atoms. Without the tall forests, you have less thunderstorms, thus less lightning, thus less electrical charges, thus less Ozone.

The forests are not cut down for lumber but are slashed and burned for farms to accomodate the over population fostered by machoism and certain religions that forbid birth control.

                      Time for your map.

Yep. "Sprachraum" (literally speach realm?) works, I think "Nederlandse Taalunie" (Dutch Language Union) is the way it's described.

I'm about to turn in, so if anybody else wants to post a map, feel free to take my turn.
