    Egypt is playing host to this consultation meeting on Sudan. Libya is one of the four parties involved.

    Egypt - Consultation meeting among Egypt, Sudan, Libya and the US to discuss supporting peace and stability in Sudan
    24 Aug [ISRIA] A consultation meeting between the four countries Egypt, Sudan, Libya, and the US, was held at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, to discuss the means of supporting peace and stability all over Sudan. Egyptian Ministers Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Omar Soliman attended the meeting, in addition to the Libyan Foreign Secretary Mousa Kousa and Minister of State Mohammad Al-Sayala, Sudanese Presidential Advisor Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, as well as the US special envoy to Sudan General Scott Gration.

    Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting, the first of its kind, came after intensive contacts between the four parties, prompted by the keenness and common interests in the Sudanese affair, and aimed at exchanging views to support efforts that purpose at achieving stability all over Sudan. Spokesman outlined that the meeting is regarded as an opportunity to discuss the current talks between the Sudanese parties in all dossiers, which would achieve stability in Sudan, including the situation in Darfur and the relation between North and South.

    Spokesman added that the meeting also discussed the means to boost the contacts held by the four parties to provide the suitable atmosphere to reach comprehensive and permanent political settlement, including naturalizing relations between Sudan and Chad, being the cornerstone of the efforts of ending Darfur crisis.

    The meeting also witnessed an agreement on forming a unified negotiating team representing Darfur that would present a comprehensive political view to solve the issue as a whole. ....
