That looks like James Stewart in the last picture. (Don't need to reply. Just joking.)

Anyway, the title of this thread is still misleading. It is nothing to do with China at war. It is about a Chinese officer training school, probably KMT.

I'd say most definitely! Uncle Sam would not give the Maoists bazookas and Garands. =)

                Of course, clearly not CPC.

by summer of 1945 there were about 25 KMT divisions that were US trained.

Everyone knows what happened four years later in China. Anyway, this is a different story.

                      Merlin,

Here is another way to look at it, PLA was stuffed by over 60% KMT turncoats and during the Korean war, there were PLA who can read captured maps written in English. Here is another example; KMT had a US trained Airborne division and conducted a large scale air drop near Jiangman in March 1945, those KMT troops became the core of PLA's 15th airborne.

Anyways, here is a captured US made 747 with a F-16 in a Photo Op by the PLA Naval Infantry in 1952.

An American inspection in 1944 thought the Maoists were doing a better job than the Nationalists of fighting the Japanese, Triple C ... it never happened, but supplying both with arms might have been possible ...

Oh dear! Are we going into sensitive territory now, comparing the KMT army and the CPC Red army in the period before 1949?

The documents we quote depend very much on who wrote them, their vested interests, and how objective they were.

                            Merlin,

I am not sure I understand your point. The are facts and figures that no political span will change.

Xinhui, I was not referring to the pictures you posted. They are good historic pictures.
