  • Cool EU election profiler - Who would you vote for?

    http://www.euprofiler.eu/

Extremely interesting, think 'political compass' for the upcoming European elections - only takes a few minutes and is quite detailed.

My own results places me slightly to the left socioeconomically, and very strongly anti-EU integration.

Based on my views the site says my best Irish match for the European elections is Sinn Féin, which I suppose I'd broadly agree with.

Internationally I'm well suited to the Danish FolkeB, Socialist party, Sweden's Junilistan, and also Denmark's Dansk Folkpartie.

So basically a moderately leftist europhobe.

Anyone else want to have a go?

(Note - Non Europeans might find it interesting to see which EU parties they are closest to as well, you just need to select a country at the start, you'll get a couple of country specific questions so best pick one you're familiar with in some way).

Hmm, surprisingly conservative/UKIP. Most of the time when I take these things I tend to be almost right in the middle of the graph

I wouldn't call myself anti-EU, just that the EU is becoming something that's too unified and almost like a republic. It was never meant to be that. As far as I see it, it's just another stupid plan by the mainland continentals to unify Europe, they've tried to do it throughout the history of Europe. Whether it's the Romans or Napoleon or Hitler

Keep the EU, just that its powers are already too strong in individual states

The little cross is you, and the sphere around it is your 'influences' - so essentially you're a fair bit to the socioeconomic right (quelle surprise ;)!) and quite strongly anti-EU integration.

So the English parties you're best suited for are UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party, far right anti-EU group) and the Conservatives ('Tories', mainstream English right) - when you're at the last page you can click for a full European chart of which parties you're best suited to EU wide.

Out of the Irish parties you're a definite Libertas voter!

As a side note, can anyone tell me how to get the chart up? I'm right clicking on it and all this stuff about zooming comes up but I can't save it :(.

                    I suppose that's a semi accurate description. :))

Now I know what to register as if I ever move to Ireland or UK. I do want to visit in the near future. :)

You can hit "alt + print screen" on your keyboard to capture the current window you are looking at. Then open MS Paint and paste it in. Then save as whatever format you want, probably JPG if you want to upload it to shave off uploading time.

You can also press "shift + print screen" on your keyboard. That will take a snapshot of the current desktop you are looking at.

Note: neither of these function will capture a video overlay image.

My anti-EU feelings suggested UKIP (correct), even though my Economics are very left-wing. Very nifty website, good find.

Why do I have this feeling that most of the members of this board would end up between UKIP and the BNP according to this test?

Ah poor Le Pen is still around albeit completely discredited now... Unfortunately for him the French found in Sarkozy a candidate who could be anti immigration and with a sexy wife.

For the ferociously anti EU that he is, the only mandate he's left is his seat at the European Parliament! :))

It put me in between (around about the middle) Labour and the Tories, generally centralist. Even though I often lean to the right on quite a few issues.
