  • he is home

Just an update, my son is home for the next 30 days....thank God he doesn't have to go back to Afghanistan. He will be returning to Italy hopefully for the next 15mths after his visit. We are so glad to have him home and he seems to be doing ok since he had to escort his friend's body home last month. I will keep you informed and updated about things...Thanks for all your support... ev kennedy

Well that's a weight of your shoulders:)) 30 days R&R my son returned from Basra on the Friday and was back to the grind-stone on the Monday. Six weeks later he was in Afghanistan for a spell then just to make sure he didn't get bored they then sent him to the Falklands for 4 months. When the General asked him why he was leaving the Army he told him to ask his wife and kids...but don't stand too close:)) I agreed with him when he said he was leaving(it took a while for him to tell me) I think the reason was that sooner or later your luck has to run out.

Evelyn, I am so pleased to learn that your son is safely back home with you. You must be so relieved. :)
Dave, I think your son has made a wise choice. He has probably had quite enough adventure, and about the only way for his wife and children to see him is for him to leave the Army. This present disgusting government has a lot to answer for. They don't know the meaning of the word overstretch.
