This is not a comment on the Red Square Parade (that's elsewhere), but a thank you to the people of the former Soviet Union for their sacrifices in the Great Patriotic War.

I wish to tell, that we always remember, what help was rendered us by allies. I wish to tell Spasibo to your veterans who were at war against Germans, drove escorts to Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.
With Day of the Victory!

Captain,
If you would be so kind as to give me a reference so that I can cite it in the future.
In general, data on losses, very approximate. All the matter is that after war, figures of victims have been named. But, in 1980th years, for the political reasons (reorganization, etc.), figures have been changed. In the West name as these, and absolutely other figures.
If to trust documents, losses
Armed forces - 11.44 million person
Civil - 13.68 million person
On these data (documentary) I can give the link (Russian).
However now name other figures (which I have brought earlier). I am at a loss to tell, that from this the truth. That I have brought those figures earlier at me is only in a book variant.
PS: it is very a pity, that figures of losses are means of fraud of some dishonest politicians. Because of it it is very difficult to learn the truth.

Not so. Whether the numbers are 40 million, 20 million, or anywhere in-between doesn't bely the great sacrifice made by the people of the Soviet Union. It was catastrophic regardless of the numbers and, in truth, any number will remain suspect simply because of the greatness of the calamity.
Fascism is gone, we hope, forever. Nationalism, of course, is the germ-seed of fascism, so it remains to be seen whether I'm correct or not. I've certainly been accused of being a nationalistic American so I must guard against my reactionary tendencies.
This may be true for those of other nations as well, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, it really was accident. There are many certificates, that that occured in Russia at that time. Unfortunately about it practically it is not known in the West. To you (to people of the West, not you personally) practically it is not known about the burnt villages and the hung up inhabitants, about camps for slaves, etc. Even less you know about the war. As a rule it represent in the deformed kind (as idiotic film "Duell. Enemy at the gates."). Unfortunately the history is a tool of policy.
The moderate nationalism is a normal human feeling (whether well it, or is bad.). We - gregarious animals. But it is possible in a small kind. When it turns to radical nationalism and intolerance is a big harm.
