  • Greece vs. Turkey

I dont know anything about either one's armies except that Turkey has 800,000 soldiers and really crap equipment just in general. Greece has a strong navy, and a good land force, which is reallyl small.

    Greece vs Turkey

The Turks can not afford to buy considarable quality equipment in comparison to the Greeks(me) who have a considarable arsenal. The Turks only have manpower superiority. The Air Forces are equal in numbers. The Greeks are working on a project of buying the F-18 Hornet(USA)or the Rafale(France) or the Grippen(Sweden). The navy....i dont know...possibly a tie.On land power we will defeat them due to economical reasons. They cant afford a long time offencive so they will be forced into defence and fast.Their air force will be demolished due to our SAM umbrella (patriot missiles,Krotal,Artemis(our production AA)and others).I hope i dont sound like a patriot but if i am forgive me.Greetings

Well, I'm neither Greek or Turk, but I dont think Greece will win so easily lol. Turkey doesnt have enough money to ford for a strong offensive, but they do have the capability to put Greece on the defensive. Turkey's arsenal is outdated but its definetley going to put up a fight because of its relatively large size compared to Greece. Turkey wont win the war but it will do a considerable amount of damage to Greece. And i have no idea why i made this thread a few months ago...lol

        now lets see the stats...

The turkish airforce has...(assuming a squadron is made of 15 fighters)....
        11 squadrons of F-16's...
        6 squadrons of F-4E's....
        unknown amount of F-5's...
        total of around ~250 planes....
        http://www.tuaf.mil.tr/default.asp

        Greece has...
        8 squadrons of F-4's...
        8 squadrons of F-16's (both block 30 and 50)
        3 squadrons of mirage-2000
        4 squadrons of a-7...
        ~350 planes...

however the turkish advantage is that most of thier fleet is F-16C/d...
whilist the greek advantage is made of A-7's and 8 squadrons of F-4's...

        http://www.scramble.nl

Greek army is around 120,000 men armed with M-40's and with M-60 tanks, having some leaopards coming....and the usal in terms of artillery and sam's...

        Turkish army...

        http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...pe/tu-army.htm

from what i can tell, and have gathered, what used to be a slow large army, reduced to 400,000 men, well equipped, mobile, has nealry 3000 m-60's as well as leopards
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Army

the navies are pretty well balanced out, people with technical knowhow will be able to tell you more than the numbers...
        turkish navy
        greek navy

judging from that, i'd say Turkey would win.
Especially adding the active nato role, as well as the fact that they are modernising what they can and have been working with Israle and Pakistan in fact on projects...indicating that Turkey is willing to move wheever it can to make it big.
