Greece suports turkey into joining the EU due to the possibility of greek companies being able to enter the turkish market.

But before turkey can be considerd as a member, they must resolve the cyprus issue.

Turkey shouldn't join the EU, there are just too many drawbacks for Turkey and we have much better options than the EU-membership.

Free cash. What kind of option can offer more than EU?

There is no such thing as a free lunch,

the costs of an EU-Accession would be:

                Before Accession:

                - Northern Cyprus

                - Giving up all of our territorial rights in the Aegean Sea

                - the recognition of the so-called "armenian-genocide".

                - giving in to kurdish seperatist aspirations.

                After Accession:

                - loss of sovereignity, meaning that we would be controlled by foreign nations, which is unprecedented in our history.

It really makes me sick, all the blood my ancestors gave and took for our country would be wasted, because some spineless bastards are looking for "free cash" and some islamists consider the EU as a means for abolishing the secularism in Turkey.

The fact that Greek is a strong supporter of Turkey's EU-membership bid, is a strong indication that the EU is going to diminish Turkey.

The only reason why the islamists in our government cannot impliment their islmist agenda is the Turkish Millitary, which has an obligation to protect the republic and the Kemalistic ideals of it.

One of the major points, on which the EU-states insist is the limitation of the Turish Millitary's power, which would give the islmists the opening they are seeking to impliment their backward agenda.

Under an E.U. umbrella, I doubt any islamists are going to operate their agenda.

Turkish islamists are very active in Europa. One of them can not be caliph in Turkey, but he can do in Germany, under EU umbrella.

Most part of Europa is not so secular.
