  • I need a simple MP3 editor

OK, so after doing simply Google searches and trying a few out (and not having a clue how to get them to work properly) I'm appealing to our learned members for help.

I'd like to download a (free) simple, easy-to-use MP3 editor.

All I want to be able to do is chop off the beginning and/or ending of an audio file.

Ever listen to a song with a really inane intro?

Like the band yukking it up with the studio engineer?

Ever wish you could "crop" an audio file as easily as you can crop a .jpg?

    Me too.

I'd like to simply snip those few seconds out so that the song starts immediately with...well, the song.

    Any recommendations?

He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

Holy crap that was easy. I just edited 2 songs without even looking at the operating instructions!

Guess I'm not quite as obsolete as I thought

You will need a CD ripper to grab the CD music into a computer file (usually wav). Then you convert it into mp3. There are some programs that will do this in one step. Try "Free CD Ripper." You should be able to find it on download.com.
