There's a guy in jail for refusing to testify in the Bonds steroid probe. If it comes out that he used them, I don't think he ought to be recognized as the record holder. Ben Johnson for example wasn't given the world record for his time in the 100m dash."Every man has his weakness. Mine was always just cigarettes."

This Sucks
Juiced players and juiced baseballs. Give me Aaron going against the likes of Koufax, Drysdale, Marichal, Gibson, Seaver, Ryan, Maloney, Bunning, Jenkins, Osteen, Sutton, Koosman, etc., etc. The quickest bat in baseball history.
That's back when "juice" either meant tobacco or liquor and a 30 homer season meant something."This aggression will not stand, man!" Jeff Lebowski

Guys,
1. Bonds is still a good baseball player, albeit a dickheaded player too. You could take all the steroids in the world and not hit one MLB homerun, it takes more than power.
2. Chill. A-rod's on pace to hit at least 1000 homeruns, so no worries :)"you have enemies, good. That means you stood up for something, sometime in your life"

The comparison ends where Barry uses armor in a position that is supposed to be much more one of defense. Also, Hank played most of his career when pitchers threw from a 10-20 inch height advantage. Today, pitching rubbers are to be no higher than 10 inches. I'd like to see Barry hog the plate in 1968 or earlier and not get what he deserves for it. I mean,, the guy either walks, hits, or strikes out. The juice helps line drives break through the infield, if he doesn't hit it out, and the plate-hogging forces the pitcher to hack-a-shaq, or walk him and hope he can't score.

That's a very valid point. Pitcher's mound was much higher back then. Batters didn't dare to crowd the plate either. If they did, they get knocked down. That's not how baseball is played today. The "brush back" pitch is nearly unheard of now."Only Nixon can go to China." -- Old Vulcan proverb.
