Qaeda warns of attacks 'worse than 9/11'

DUBAI (AFP) - An American member of al Qaeda warned in an Internet video that US President George W. Bush should withdraw all his troops from Muslim land or face attacks worse than September 11.

Adam Gadahn, a convert to Islam who has been indicted for treason by a US jury, issued a list of demands and warned they were not up for negotiation.

"Your failure to heed our demands means that you and your people... will experience things that will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11, Afghanistan and Iraq, and Virginia Tech," he said in the video posted on Tuesday.

"You're losing on all fronts and losing big time," said Gadahn, who is the English-language spokesman for Osama bin Laden's terror network.

The tape entitled "Legitimate Demands" was produced by As-Sahab, a media outfit that specialises in al Qaeda online material.

Gadahn -- sporting a headress, glasses and long beard -- said Bush had "embroiled his nation in a series of unwinable and bloody conflicts in the Islamic world."

He also called on the United States to cease support for the "bastard state of Israel" and the "56-plus apostate regimes of the Muslim world" and to free all Muslims from its prisons.

"We don't negotiate with war criminals and baby killers like you. No, these are legitimate demands which must be met," he said.

Born in 1978, Gadahn -- also known Azzam al-Amriki and Azzam the American -- is a native of southern California and has appeared in several videotapes for al Qaeda since 2004.

His conversion to Islam came after he began attending the Islamic Centre of Orange County in California, where he is believed to have come under the influence of two foreign-born
    Islamic radicals.

Gadahn's reference to Virginia Tech was to the shooting of 32 people at the university by Korean-born gunman Cho Seung-hui who then turned the gun on himself.

Fun fact: He's really a self hating Jew who lies in a cave with obl and dr.z.

But the growing up on a goat ranch part makes it seem like al-qaeda spokesman is his one true calling.

The FBI has been seeking to question Gadahn since May 2004, and the U.S. government has offered up to $1 million in reward money for information leading to his arrest.

Gadahn converted to Islam from a Jewish-Christian family when he was 17 and a few years later moved to Pakistan. He was previously known as Adam Pearlman and grew up on a goat ranch outside Los Angeles.

With threats like that, how could anyone say we do not belong in Iraq?

Time to start deploying Daisy Cutters and MOABs.
Able to leap tall tales in a single groan.

HMmmm. People hiding like cockroaches are making threats to a country who has so far shown much restraint. al Qaeda is in no position to make demands. Point of fact, al Qaeda can either walk away from terrorism or die.

Go ahead and give it your best shot Adam. Then it will be our turn and maybe we wont play so nice next time.
Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

I'm surprised he didn't add to his list of demands that the US swear allegiance to Al-Queda. "We don't negotiate"," demands which must be met" How? Seems to me what little I've read hear of his demands they are unrealistic. So what was the purpose of this announcement? The one phrase that caught my eye is "We don't negotiate". Which causes me to wonder has some one been trying to negotiate with them?
I know that we have approached some insurgency groups involved in Iraq. Could we have also approached Al-Queda?

Typical. The Al qaeda scum seems to grow this type of creep like fungus. I am a devout muslim myself, and I find what this man and others like him 'stand for' offensive, hurtful and a gross injustice to the Muslim faith in general and the Muslims in Iraq in particular, seeing that these people are responsible for uncounted civilian deaths in a country already ravaged by civil strife and suffering from a terrible lack of the basic needs of life. While I consider the Bush Administratoin accountable for the grossly irresponsible situation in Iraq now and giving these awful people the excuse(sorry excuse that it is) to be there and the insuing chaos which allowed them to infiltrate Iraqi soil, this heinous band of Godforsaken murderers should not be allowed to use the chaos in Iraq or anywhere else as a breeding invironment where their actions cause the unjust death of innocent people and I for one support of international coordinated efforts to put them out of comission for good

Maybe he made his move. That foiled attack on JFK airport that was expected "to be more horrific than 9/11".

Could be though I doubt JFK is what he was talking about. What I've herd JFK was no where near operational, as such hardly worth boasting about.

as far as I can see, there is nothing yet to tie the attempt at JFK to Al-Qaeda, in fact the people involved do not seem to have the experience that Al-Qaeda has to perform it, as is seen by how they were caught. Seeing that it failed, even if Al-Qaeda is responsible it is unlikely to admit to it. In any case, Al-Qaeda have been making this threat ever since after 9/11, and will continue with the threat, so it doesn't really matter anyway

What justification has he got to be calling anyone a war criminal, the scum bag

                      Sir
I suspect you are right. How ever if this article from the Fox Web site is right then Adnan Gulshair el-Shukrijumah is the missing link between this small group and Al-Qaeda. But it was probably little more then wishful thinking on the part of these four idiots.

I went to see the link you sent. Thanks for the heads-up, and ease up on the 'sir', ;) .

Whoever this guy is, I seriously doubt he is what Fox and other agencies like it make him out to be(I have developed a great reluctance in past years to give credibility to that particular network without great caution, I find its reports a bit biased) with regards to this man, one has to understand that in the part of the world where he originates from, people whose field of expertise or where they work is in sensitive hotspots such as nuclear energy and armament are subject to very close security and monitoring. For me, the very idea of a 'nuclear whiz-kid' originally from Saudi Arabia ( and believe me academia in the Saudi kingdom in such fields is not really all that hot) who only came to the notice of the security apparatus in Saudi Arabia in particular and in the rest of the world in general AFTER Al-Qaeda pulled him out of a hat strikes me as moonshine to be honest. If it's true, well frankly it leaves the legendary intelligence services in the US and elsewhere(Israel in particular)with a lot to be desired what with its nearly fanatic attempt to monitor anyone in that area with nuclear inclinations.
With regards to him being a link between this rather amateurish attempt in my view at JFK and Al-Qaeda, well, I'm not too clear what the big deal is. So what? If not him, someone else. For this kind of operation money is needed, and it's not like they can get a loan from the bank, or borrow 'expert' manpower from a labour service. it's only natural they turn to Al-Qaeda or other bodies like it for support. Of course, we can never be certain without hearing the actual conversations that fox refers to so vaguely, but just because the name came up in a conversation doesn't mean he actually existed as a link; in fact the appearance of such a well known name makes room for the possibilty that the it was simply pulled out of a hat during the conversation as a possible contact, 'wishful thinking' as you put it.
Kudos for Fox news for muddying the waters without leaving us with anything concrete. bother it.
Oh well, lets be thankful this affair ended like it did
