  • Will john kerrys comments cost the democrats the election

John kerry recently said while giving a speach if you study hard and become smart you won't get bogged down in iraq, then he later said it was directed at george bush he said he meant to say you won't get ''us'' bogged down in iraq, the problem is many are not buying his excuse.

So will the democrats lose the election because of his words

      No.

But they surely didn't help either.

The smartest thing the democrats can do is to shut the hell up for a few more days. Unfortunately for them, they think they are way more intelligent than they really are.
Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

His comments sure wont help, and may cost them a few % points.

Kerry's not on the ballot so he's not the issue. The Democrats told him to shut his mouth and go back to Washington.

Yeah, and NONE of his party supported his comments EITHER.....unlike SOME people.

I think it's a good thing that it happened....that way his a$$ is off the campaign trail. ;)

Just to be clear here, this is what he actually said. You have it wrong up above. It might make it easier to see why many are not buying his excuse, as you put it.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

well, for one, i buy his excuse...

after all, if he thinks only dumb*****es join the military and get stuck in foreign wars...i wonder about his own self-esteem/intelligence, given his own history!
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

Bush isn't on the ballot either, and look at your last 100 posts on the election. Be consistant.

I think the Kerry thing will definitely equal "some" % points gained for the Republicans and maybe even a couple lost for the Dems. That could swing a few elections, maybe. Maybe.

No, Bush isn't on the ballot, and he needs to get off the campaign trail too, and get back to Washington doing something about IRAQ, which is the main voting issue right now. ;)

A rather uncaring remark indeed and totally out of place.

No ****. During 2004 he was publically disavowed by virtually every single member of his chain of command, and the vast majority of his shipmates at several postings.

                              That's pretty damned bad...
