Just got home from seeing this one tonight.

Folks, Eastwood has outdone himself with this one.

Absolutely FANtastic.(graciela was balling her eyes out for a good 15 minutes at the end).

I give it 4.75 stars out of 5.

For a great Eastwood flick to only get 4.75 stars makes me ask what movies have you given the full 5 stars to?

      Hmmm...

The Godfather- I/II- "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
Apocalypse Now- "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning."
Pulp Fiction- "Do you read The Bible Bret?"
Dr.Strange love- "We must not allow a mineshaft gap!"
Jaws- "You're gonna need a bigger boat..."
Star Wars- "The force will be with you, always."
      The Shining- "Here's Johnny!!!"
Silence of the Lambs- "I ate his liver with some fava beans, and a nice Chianti."
Rebel without a cause- "What are you rebelling against? "Whatdya got?"

My 5 star bar is pretty high up there i guess.

I can't say i even give Saving Private Ryan 5 stars(which FoUF's cinematography was clearly influenced by IMO), though it gets a solid four and a half. IMO Flags of our Fathers is a better movie than Private Ryan, if for no other reason that it's based on a real human story, and takes a hard look at coping with the aftermath of a battle like Iwo Jima. One can only imagine...

At any rate, it was an excellent movie.
