I don't think so.

If everything done by the govt is socialist philosophy, then the US is equally socialist and maybe even Communist. :D

The US has Social Security. We don't have! :cry Are we more democratic and capiltalistic than the US.

I sure wish we had social security as you have. Social security is a communist idea or a socialist idea. It just means no one should be done in the dumps and pull the country down. That's socialism as far as I am concerned. Why should anyone require govt doles if laisse faire is the concept?

Let's just hope Bush returns and Kerry doesn't get voted in.

But if he does, now's a good time to say it was nice knowing all of you. Be sure to not follow Kerry's example but rather fight Al-Qaeda to the bitter end.

Anything done by the Government that is not meant to protect our rights is Socialist.

The Socialist just took power, they havn't begun to fuck up spain.

Spain is more socialist then the United States but in that paticular aspect spain is more Capitalist.

Democracy has NOTHING to do with Capitalism in fact they are antithetical. In Capitalism you are ruled by equal rights , in Democracy your ruled by whatever the majority happens to be at the moment.

Why?

Personally I'd rather pay 15% percent income tax instead of 25% income tax and invest that money in stocks/bonds, precious metals, and put in the bank earning interest then give it to the Government and not make any profit.

How is taking 10% of your income every year from you and have it sit with the Government going to help the economy?

Social Security gets smaller and smaller every year, it's a perfect example of why socialism doesn't work... a government can't spend or invest money efficently.

I totally agree with you on Kerry, if he wins we will have even more illegal immigrants, terrorist attacks, etc. Whats disturbing is that people actually agree with him
