United Nations, May 11 (Prensa Latina) UNICEF has recommended immediate steps to end malnutrition of child survivors in Pakistan, who continue to suffer the effects of the great earthquake last October that killed 73,000 people.
In an effort coordinated with the World Health Organization, the entities noted malnutrition is most severe for children under five years old in the areas hardest hit by the quake.
A joint UNICEF-WHO sampling showed a slight improvement, but a need for additional food for children and pregnant women, as well as promoting breastfeeding and hygiene education.
Information dealing with better health conditions was also highlighted by these UN agencies that have been very active in returning this Asian State to normal after the earthquake.
