  • Failed State Index A Product of American Bias Funded By The Government

An Editorial in the Pakistan Times describes the Failed State Index as a product of “American bias, venom and designs towards Pakistan” and is “funded by the American Government”.

Goes on to cautions that “the highly discriminated black community in the United States …… …… could explode any time”

I want whatever the editor at Pakistan Times is smoking :

    Is Pakistan a 'Failed State'?
    By the Editor

ACCORDING to a report, Pakistan along with Afghanistan is among the world’s top ten most ‘vulnerable States’. The study has been compiled jointly by the US Foreign Policy Magazine and the US-based Fund for Peace think-tank. Pakistan has been moved from 34th position last year to 9th in the new report.

The mischievous report is indicative of the American bias, venom and designs towards Pakistan. On the one hand the United States categorises Pakistan as strategic and long-term ally and designated it as non-NATO ally and on the other hand it is sponsoring propaganda to demoralize the Pakistani people.

But gone are the days when this type of propaganda created confusions in the minds of innocent people. Now in the 21st century, everyone knows that this is part of the orchestrated campaign and psychological warfare. Who knows better than the Pakistanis themselves their inner strength and ability to foil nefarious designs of the enemy and take the country to new heights of progress.

It is quite evident that such reports are funded by the American Government and are reflective of the administration’s policies and thinking towards various countries. When a country toes American lines, a rosy picture is painted and everything is OK.

However, when it comes to clash of interests — short-term or long-term — then a systematic campaign is launched to present doomsday scenario. The worth of the said report is evident from the factors considered to arrive at the conclusion – inability to police the Tribal Areas, devastating earthquake and rising ethnic tension.

Isn’t it ridiculous that Pakistan was strong and stable when there were no troops at all in Tribal Areas and became vulnerable when over eighty thousand troops are there? We have sustained the consequences of earthquake and now well-poised to rebuild the affected areas.

As for ethnic tension, it is fraction of the tension that prevails among the highly discriminated black community in the United States that could explode any time. With multidimensional progress, Pakistan is not the State of 90s and to describe it as a failed State is nothing but a pressure tactics and therefore, condemnable.●
