NEW DELHI: Three skeletons have been found in a suspected mass grave inside an interrogation centre in held Kashmir. Police have taken over the complex, which was in use of the paramilitary forces from 1992 to 2005. A Srinagar-based news agency reported on Saturday that the grave was found inside the Gujjar Hostel complex in Anantnag town. The complex housed a joint camp of the Border Security Forces and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). It had earned notoriety in the area because it was used as a local interrogation centre. Former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed asked the forces to vacate the building last September, because the centre was replaced to by a school extension. But, due to the onset of winter the building could not be renovated. Recently when the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) started removing bunkers and other paraphernalia, they found the grave and unearthed three skeletons. Locals believe the grave could hold the bodies of people who disappeared in forces’ custody. The agency reported that there were many more graves in the courtyard of the building. Police have refused to file a case. iftikhar gilani

Note: It's Islamabad district of Kashmir. Originally it was called something else but the locals started calling it Islamabad.

      Mass grave found in Islamabad

Srinagar: A mass grave has been found at a place where an interrogation center existed in 90’s at Islamabad. Three bodies were found in the grave.

According to CNS, the buried had been tortured to death during interrogation. The trio could be among the list of many thousand men who disappeared in the custody of security agencies.

The building of Gujjar Hostel in Islamabad was occupied by troops in 1992 and was later jointly taken by BSF and CRPF. The armed forces had converted the building into an infamous interrogation center, CNS further said.

During the last days of his rule, former chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayed laid foundation stone for construction of building between the interrogation centre and the hostel of nearby degree college. The construction work started but was later stopped due to winter season.

In the meanwhile, the armed forces had vacated the Gujjar Hostel, which was now functioning as boys’ higher secondary school.

When the work was re-started this year, the labourers removed two barricades erected by troops in the vicinity of the interrogation centre, now a school. The labourers of JKPCC found three skeletal remains in a pit and got panicky. The news of the find spread across the area like wildfire. The people according to the news agency expressed concern saying that no person was buried on the site prior to the occupation of the building by the troops. The people apprehend that the bodies might have been of the persons killed by troops during the interrogation.

The bodies according to the news agency were later buried near the old hostel.

Yes, and these things get only reported by the Pakistan media which has exclusive access to Indian Kashmir.

I'd like to see Indian or International media report this :)
