850 rounds, 1 minute 45 seconds, one pull of the trigger. Awesome.

    Whoa. If that's not a hoax...whoa.

That barrel was probably on the verge of melting after a while, hardened barrel or not.

I say they just bring a load of liquid helium with them. That'll keep the barrel cold for a while... real cold...

Actually they just change out the barrel.

Not sure why they consider that "New and Improved". The old pig had a cyclic ROF of 500 rpm. By this video they are close to the original specs, 25 rds shy actually. :)

(edit= pig is the nickname of the original M-60, before the "Rambo" grips. My first true love)

They are probably boasting the fact that they can shoot 850 rounds out of the weapon with ONE PULL OF THE TRIGGER with out having to change the barrel. That is saying something about the gun.

Too bad they didn't improve the M60's before the M240 replaced them all. M60 was always a troubled weapon, not the greatest American design, especially the early ones.

I like the SAW a lot better, much lighter. The pig really is.

                  LOL

                    Sure is.

If you did that with a regular pig you'd have a runaway gun about 300rds into the 'burst', even if the bbl didn't melt.

Runaway guns are no fun when the guy operating the weapon doesn't know how to safe it.

Also, take note of how the bullets fall all within about a 2' group. Not bad for a gun that by all previous standards should have been goo by the end.

Nice silhouette pictured on your avatar there, Mr...Whitman was it? Yes. ;)

He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

Looks a lot more like Lee Harvey Oswald to me.

That means its cyclic rate of fire is 485 rds per min - means its carp and meant of old women. Even the good old L4 LMG have a cyclic rate of fire of 550 rpm and the MAG 58/ M240 has a cyclic rate of fire of 750 rds per min. ;)

                              Cheers!...on the rocks!!
