SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio -- Officials in one Lorain County town said they plan to honor a boy for telling a lie.
They said 11-year-old Joe Cambria helped to save his mother when their house caught fire last week, NewsChannel5 reported.
She went back into the house to try to find the family cat, but Joe fibbed and said "Simba" was already safe. He then called 911.
Firefighters were able to rescue the cat, that's now being treated for burns.
Sheffield Lake's mayor said Joe will be recognized as a hero at Monday's city council meeting.

Simba, the cat, was burned on his ears and paws when there was a fire at his home last week.
When the cat's owner attempted to go back into the house to save Simba, her son told her that Simba had already escaped.
The boy will be honored next week by Sheffield Lake for his quick thinking.
