    Nope, Ulysses S. Grant.

At the Council of Basel in 1434, what two nations argued amongst themselves about who were the "better Goths", and what claim did each side make to substantiate their claim?

Nice... more accurately, the Swedes laid claim to being the "true" Goths as they conquered the kingdom of the Geats. The Spaniards accused the Swedes as being "stay-at-home" Goths and claimed they were descended from the heroic adventuring Visigoths. Your question.

In XVI-XVII century one of the most powerful combat unit was Polish Cavalry . Finally Swedes invented something similar and sent finnish farmers on their heavy plough- horses to combat . What was the name of this unit and it´s warriors ?
Extra points for translation / meaning of the name .

Cuirassiers, named for their armored breastplates or cuirasses.
