    Let me work on that.

Should a mod lock this thread at precisely 300 posts?

I like the show. I liked Babylon 5 too. For science fiction shows, they're alot more realistic than Star Trek, with regards to interpersonal relationships and all. Alot of character depth.

Star Trek, ultimately, is a science fiction writer's wet dream of an interstellar socialist utopia, nothing more. No money, no capitalism (except as a comic foil, a la the Ferengis), anything you could ever want just speak it into a replicator. Every episode is a crusade for great social justice.

Well, anyways, the thread is back on track to 300 posts.

    Book To Show

The book I most want to see become a movie/mini-series is Joe Haldeman's The Forever War

    That would be great.

I think I did my part!

Liked the movie for it entertainment value.

However I believe it would have been better to have based it on real history, and not a comic book. There is more than enough documented history they could have used to make a better movie. Did not like how they portrait the Persians, specifically the immortals.

And just how many people would have gone and seen it?

The producers never claimed to be making an historically accurate portayal.

My expectations were low for historical accuracy and they were met.

It has been a long time since I expected Hollywood to make an historically accurate war movie...they just don't make money. (See Gettysburg & Gods and Generals)

How many does tha get us to?)

    The 300 Spartans (1962)

300 Spartans can be historically more true. But it is not worth to watch as much as 300. And there are many documentaries on topic. I wouldn't pay 3.5 dolars for a boring historical movie and I wouldn't spend my time for it.

Thought it was a good movie. Although I could not understand where the monsters come into play but whatever.

The movie was based on a graphic novel and they implemented most of the 'elaborations' into the movie.

Laughablly inaccurate movie, but anyone that had seen the trailer shouldn't complain about its authenticity.

Still very entertaining, though I would prefer to see the Greeks armored as is proper. As my companion in the theater put it, "The Greeeks wore heavy armor and carried big shields, and that's why they're scary. A hoard of half-nakedguys charging screaming at you as they charge is also scary, but for entirely different reasons."
