Yes, the Atlas, Redstone and Titan were all liquid-fueled. It wasn't until Minuteman that a solid-fueled rocket motor was put into service.
but they were fueled at silos, the N Koreans displayed it right in the open for three days.

John McCain was saying all these mainly for domestic US consumption, as they would not have much effect on China's UNSC decision.

And I think if China and Russia were to go along with the proposed UN sanction and this sanction got adopted, DPRK will call off the 6-party nuclear talk while the sanction would not have much political/diplomatic effect.

So then we surround them with an ABM battery and shoot down the next missle as it leaves the pad and blockade all aid from the country and when Kim shouts war then open the floodgates and lets have war. Enough is enough, they have proven to be non-trustworthy and childish. Lets call the bluff and bring it to an end. The sooner the better. It would be nice to have China and or Russia since they border them to rein in Kim and his BM program and show the world that they can infact uphold the UNSC wishes and sanctions as major members. Not just sit around and vote against them each and every time because they fear collapse and refugees on their borders. Its bound to happen one way or another so why not control the way it happens instead of a surprise that they are not prepared for.

Are the NKs having operational nukes?
If yes, how many can they lob around their neighbourhood?
If no, wtf are the concerned parties waiting for?

Its estimated (only from heresay I havent seen any solid reports) that they have enough for approximately 4 warheads. I just cant see why the International Community continues to play this game with them. Everybody wants to build relations and so fourth but everybody should be focused on two of the biggest destabilizing elements among us. Namely NK and Iran.

And as with all 'freedom of speech,' one is accountable for the statements he makes. John McCain is a senator, and as a government official, his statements holds the US gov't accountable to a certain extent. Not something that a senator should be doing, commenting on foreign issues.

One could be treading on dangerous ground, eg credibility when trying to sell new bonds etc etc, when suggesting ones going to play silly buggers with ones T Bills obligations to another country.
bit like telling the Bank who you got a loan from , you're not going to pay the interestbecause one of their managers, whose your next door neighbour doesn't mow his lawnsor something.

By allowing NK to posses enough material for an estimated 4 warheads on top of doing nothing but protesting sanctions against their BM program IMO its already to late to consider this dangerous ground. Your already on it.

You would be in the wrong if you shot it down, because every country has the legal right to launch a satellite without interference.
