One of the properties I worked at had signs posted all over employee areas to help curb the "lazy words".

My favorite and most quoted was "Uh-huh" and "no problem" does NOT mean "you're welcome"

I give my prepubescent daughter and her friends fits about this. My daughter has gotten significantly better about it, at least around me. Her friends, they try but still manage to spill out "like" about every 5 word.

I also do not let her use l33t speak when writing anything that I will be reading.
    I no longer post here.

Irritating to me is when supposedly intelligent adults do it. I went rounds with my kid as well about it. I would finally just ignore her until she could speak properly to me. I could see it was difficult for her though as when I was around her friends, it would take them three minutes for a 30 second statement with all the unnecessary jargon, then twice as long to decipher what the hell they where trying to say!!!

When adults do it I start replying to them in a most condescending manner total overboard by rolling my eyes and throwing in quick "ohmygod, like, you know, I like, can't like, understand what the hell your're like, trying to like, SAY! After that they either a)walk away crying, b)walk away calling me a dick! c)thier eyes roll back in thier head and they pass out(kidding), but either way, my point gets across that because they are too stupid or lazy to put a sentence together, I refuse to continue in a lopsided intelligent manner.

I also do not let her use l33t speak when writing anything that I will be reading.
I don't even know what that is??
