If the board wants an echo chamber I will move along if not put the troll back under the bridge or let me know it's open season on insults here. I am quite adept at being an asshat but, really if I want to trade insults the boards like that have more than one to play with and I dont feel like I am kicking sand in the face of the skinny kid at the beach when I play flame bait with them.

Seriously, if you can't take a bit of rough-'n'-tumble, Alice, maybe you're NOT suited for this place. I was having a bit of fun, but the terminally-earnest, like yourself, usually can't take it, and wants the authorities to DO something about it.

Dude if I called conservatives and liberals and the rnc the things you call liberal and Democrats I'd be banned. Go look up my banned account. I crashed and burned famously here and had to promise to play nice and I begged for a second chance and am still grateful to of gotten it. I was selling a condo one step of a collapsing market and was nuts when I first joined. BA1025, I can play hardball. I am a porcupine in that kind of enviroment people back up saying ow. I'm in a union on a shop floor....I'd of eatten a bullet if insults bothered meSissy.

I understood how rare low insult political debate is and how much better it is. Take a look around. Go read the last posts of banished members. You are a protected species here. If you weren't you'd have a banished next to your name w/your insult count. Here's a thought. Do you like getting special treatment? The MSgt may come across on the board as an overbearing DI with a steel pole as his spine but once you've spoken to him in person, then you realize that it's not overbearing but desperation. Desperation that he sees things that he wants you to see. He may or may not be right but his passion for the United States of America is indisputable.
He does not want the US looking like the Europeans with a seeming lack of direction, leadership, and social inactiveness that does not seemed to know how to respond to Islamic militancy (cartoons) (at least that's the view of the Americans whether true or not).
I don't like Mark Steyrn at all but I do read what the MSgt posted just so that I understand his PoV. He does not want to be like Europe whose main social export at the moment is socialism (at least when compared to the Americans) and he certainly don't want to be like the Canadians whose main export is Celine Dion.

Newbies get zero tolerance, as you've found to your cost, but established posters have had ENORMOUS leeway given to them and I'm not including bluesman in this list. He's a rank amateur compared to two or three others that have actually finally departed our fair shores.
Lets make it clear: a newbie coming in and calling someone an idiot is an idiot.
A long term member calling someone an idiot means that 'someone' is an idiot.
You build up a reputation of respectable thought and opinion with us and we will absolutely bend over backwards to accomodate you, often at the cost of newer members, and tough titty to those newbies.
One thing I can't be bothered with is established members asking moderators to intercede on their behalf: sort it out amongst yourselves, me and Fang have got trolls to hunt.

I am at war. Literally, but also figuratively. What you've gotten from me up to now is the disdain that I have for ANY person that voluntarily sides with this crew that is not merely wrong (hell, I'm likely wrong about not a few things I believe, too), they've actually consciously chosen a position that increases the odds of us losing the dam' war. In short, they're the enemy, and they seem comfortable in that role.
I'm comfortable in my disdain and loathing of them, and you.
What I'm absolutely wall-eyed about is this: everything you believe is what the same people that have been trying to kill my wife, my son, and my colleagues believe, and if you don't think I'm likely to take it personally, well, after we talk, perhaps you'll understand it a bit better, even if we still don't agree about it all.
