I didn't see where a full time student living in Minnesota wouldnt qualify under the statute. I'd think in a state with a republican administration this would of gotten a huge amount of attention and scrutiny. I couldn't find anything other than a few blogs that claimed they couldn't register to vote.

Of course you don't see anything wrong -- that's because you're heavily biased toward the Democrats being one yourself (despite the false moniker). I wouldn't expect you to have an issue with a situation that is questionable but favors the Democrats.

On the University of Minnesota campus, we have several thousand Wisconsin residents who claim Wisconsin residency to be eligible for tuition discounts, hold Wisconsin driver's licenses, drive cars with Wisconsin plates, live in Minnesota temporarily while returning home in the summer, and so on. In many cases these people claimed Minnesota residency for the knife's edge of the then-present when they cast their votes.

Is there an ethical issue with claiming Minnesota residency for just a few brief moments to cast a vote, discarding it as quickly as it was taken up? I think there is. I think it's fraudulent. Why hasn't anybody taken it up? Because the onus is on the state to prove beyond a reasonable doubt and so on and so forth...

Pawlenty no doubt sees it as a losing issue to side with, and he remains fairly popular in the state and probably wishes to continue his political career in the future. Our attorney general and secretary of state are both DFL.

Crappy or confusing voting laws are still laws. I would agree that one shouldn't be able to claim a MN address on the day of the election and not the day after. I still think if it were happening in the numbers you say a private group or the Coleman campaign would of proved it. My politics are i the progressive tradition of TR so think my name is spot on. There was a time when the party stood for infrastructure improvements, federal regulation to protect consumers, and a strong federal government supported by a progressive tax system. I think the parties have flipped as reflected by changing geographic bases

At least there weren't any fliers distributed that warned of homicide bombers who smelt of lawn clippings, flowers and garlic driving low riding cars this year. Between Jesse, Franken Bachman and Kiffmeyer, the Minnesota majority and Air America you have it all up there. Maybe Wisconsin is putting something in the milk

It either says the law wasnt broken or they are incompetent and allowing the election process to be corrupted. You don't have to dig deep to find fruit loop republicans as fruity as Franken.
