Krauthammer in his latest article on The Washington Post hit the nail on its head on the issue of the November 4 election. Indeed, and I’m paraphrasing, the crucial issue for Americans on November 4 will be to identify the lion-hearted and the lamb-hearted. If lacking the will or cognitive ability to make this identification and vote-- out of irrational hate for Bush-Cheney and the Republicans as a result of their lack of understanding of the immeasurably intricate strategic situation that the Bush administration was placed in the aftermath of 9/11 and the ‘razor-edge’ difficult decisions it had to take to protect America from the deadliest of foes- for the “lamb” Obama, then America like sheep will be taken to the ‘slaughterhouse’.
And there will be no shortage of intellectual shepherds—one of them will be Steve Clemons holding almost the longest staff in his hand—to lead it to the abattoir. And ironically their arch enemy fanatical Islam will be licking its chops.

I think the page has been updated.
Missed the article.
However, across the pond, the most conservative newspaper, Times London October 25, 2008 has published news about the torture story of McCain and is not very flattering.
I presume all these type of articles are basically to keep in the limelight.
As the election date closes in, the media is getting more hysterical.

His editorials also appear in Newsday, I must say he is one of the better writers out there. I especially agreed with his last paragraph about how at the end of the day the economy will have fixed itself like it always does and that the barbarians will still be outside the gates and that is why he is choosing the lion (McCain) over the lamb (Obama).
In all honesty I could care less about the economy, it will get better and then it will get bad again. Its how it goes. Like with Krauthammer, my concern is "the barbarians at the gates" as he puts it, if we dont have a country then we surely wont have an economy to worry about.
Indeed the economy will stabilise one day.
I am also waiting for that day.
Till then, who cares who writes what.
Gives us our daily bread and forgive us for our trespasses!
The day the US ceases to be an entity, there shall be no world to bother about!
Generate fear and the ranks will close is an old dictum!
