First of all I don't assume any people are 'hate-mongers' - people are people, some don't like other people but that's an issue that would take decades to debate.

I was curious enough to wiki her position and found she supported an Alaskan amendment that would ban gay marriage (bad, it shouldn't be 'banned', regardless of the issue of making it legal) and signed a bill which denied state covered health and retiree benefits to same-esx partners of state employees.

To her credit with the latter though she then vetoed the bill and put it to a public vote, which is a great thing in my view, even if the issue discussed would not gain a vote from me personally, at least it was the people who were allowed decide.*

*bear with me on this stuff, I'm Irish and don't have a great deal of knowledge about your system beyond basic details, so if anything's wrong please point out.

I asked my lefty friend this the other day -

How come all examples, and I mean like 99.9% of ALL EXAMPLES, of "shouting down", restrictions of speech, interrupted speeches, interrupted conventions, smash-calling/emailing of radio stations, calls for book bannings, and attitudes of "how dare he/she/they?!?" in America come from the left?

Seriously. How UN self-aware must you be if you are a lib/dem/lefty in this country and not be aware of and not be very disturbed by this fact?

Lib/Dem/Lefties of America, you are a joke. An ever-sickening joke, but a joke nonetheless.

I tolerate crap I think is wrong and/or stupid every day. Most of us do.
Absolutely, but many righties take it further than just holding a private opinion, which is why there's an issue - just as many lefties take it further about global warming.

Difference is global warming may (or may not) be a threat, whereas we're all surely aware something god hisself created is not.

I dislike collectivism, but 'respectivism' speaks strongly to my views.

I just don't believe someone should be disliked because of something they can't control.

Again, I'm a freedom-orientated person, it doesn't matter if you do dislike him, it's you're right, but I certainly would wish you didn't.

I'd guess the right is too busy coming on to internet boards to moan about the left's moaning .

Give me an example of 'righties' taking it further then just holding a private opinion. Do you mean asking everyone to follow the Constitution as written, or follow our laws? You gave an example of how the left practices activism, why not provide me with something other then just "your" opinion.

    What can't they control?

If you like freedom so much why do you support the left. They're the ones banning plastic bags, trans-fats, bottled water, fast-food, banning ROTC from college campuses, banning recruiters from schools, banned reporters and cameras from the floor of the US House of Representatives while the Democrats went on vacation for 5 weeks in the middle of an energy crisis, is in the process of instituting the Fairness Doctrine which will essentially prevent Talk-Radio from remaining on the airwaves. And that is just what Nancy Pelsoi is personally involved in.

The Democrats are socializing the banking industry and eventually will take over the oil industry the same way by first forcing them into bankruptcy and then lending them money which will allow them to gain control over them destroying the element of 'free enterprise'.

    No, I don't think you're all that freedom-oriented.

Whistle, I responded to you in post no.35, that one was for another poster, I'd be happy to discuss all this stuff with you but I'd rather talk in one unbroken sequence.

Well obviously anyone who "takes it too far" is going to draw ire, but the reason some people take it too far wrt to homosexuality is because they really do believe it's a threat of some sort.
