But I have several and many rounds of ammo to go with each of them. I keep my weapons simple at home I keep a couple of shotguns a couple of rifles a couple of pistols each has a different purpose for being. I do have this felling that in not to long it is going to be a matter of these doomsday items possibly happening. I can see all of our rights and freedoms taken from us. This being a very great possibility if Obama and Biden are elected. I honestly feel that mc Cain acts more like a democrat of 35 years ago than he does a republican of then or now. If you give your vote away by voting a write in candidate you are wasting your vote and we will windup with Obama please do not do this to us. drayegon
Please, don't be silly. Obama's support of the 2nd Amendment (with some reasonable exceptions) is on the record. But even if you didn't trust that, the SC has just made it clear that the 2nd Amendment does not just apply to folks in the militia so Obama can't take that away with any ease.

I gather you also have "access" to assault weapons...Hopefully nobody ever gets ahold of them and goes nuts on citizens. I'm always a little bemused by folk who think with an assault weapon or two they can stop an out of control government (who still will have tanks, planes, bombs, and a whole lot more fingers on a whole lot more triggers than our rugged individualists.

So how'd you feel about the rights taken away with the Patriot Act and Bush's various executive orders? And the precedent he's been setting left and right with signing statements that basically no law applies to him? Did that bother you any or do you figure you'll always be aligned with the party in power?

who do you intend to vote for in the November 4th election?
    McCain Palin
What do you think of Obama and McCain's respective VP picks, and what strengths and weaknesses do you think each of them bring?
I was surprised by McCains pick however I think her executive experience and success in bringing reform to Alaska makes her a strong vp pick. I think Palin has brought together the Republican base and also has ushered in a new era for the GOP. I am amazed at the blatant and ignorant attacks against her however that goes to show just how scared she has made the Democrats.

Joe Biden on the other side though makes me have to wonder if Obama's claim to change is an empty promise. Of course looking at both Bidens and Obama's voting record it is hard to determine the difference between them other than Bidens much longer time entrenched in Washington. I thought Obama said he wanted to pick someone that would challenge him? Hillary would have been a stronger pick however I doubt she would have settled for second seat.

I'm a student myself, and it definitely hindered my school experience by implementing pointless new curriculum for the ignorant and indifferent.)

I know, The last thing we'd want is for ignorant and indifferent students to get some education. Better they vote Republican.

Helping the petrochemical industry isn't a bad thing. Most of the stock is held by mutual funds and retirement investment companies.

If I was an American, Obama-Biden.

Just appeals to me on far more levels, even though within this country I'd probably be closer to an Irish 'McCain'.

Obama's "reasonable exceptions" to the 2nd Amendment are far from reasonable. Here are 10 of them: 1. Ban the use of firearms for home defense; 2. Pass Federal laws eliminating Right-to-Carry; 3. Ban the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns; 4. Close down 90% of the gun shops in America; 5. Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting; 6. Increase Federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500%; 7. Restore voting rights for five million criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime; 8. Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions of more firearms; 9. Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm; 10. Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

Plutodog's statement about the SCOTUS ruling in the Heller case makes me wonder how much he knows about it. Yes, it affirms the right of the individual to hold arms, but it is very limited in scope and is unclear on how much regulation is permitted. His comments about "assault weapons" makes me really question how much he knows about small arms. There is no universal definition of"assault weapon." An assault rifle is by definition selective fire and these weapons have largely been illegal for many decades.

AFA his bemusement, he really needs to read some military history as to what determined people with small arms can do against professional soldiers. His comments about the Patriot act are normal Leftist rhetoric and I challenge him to come up with a single instance where any U.S. citizens rights were compromised by the Patriot Act.

McCain wasn't my first pick for President, but he is far and away better for the USA than Barack Obama could ever be. Just say no to socialists.

    Absolutely not.

The proof for evolution from genetics alone is incontrovertible. It would take a creator to deliberately lay an incredibly complex false trail purely to deceive human enquiry. Add fossil records, evidence in living animals and the instances where the process of evolution is observed (river guppies, fruitflies, moths) supporting evidence from plant and animal breeding and creation does not even get a look-in.

Another creationist in government, prepared to push policy based on primary beliefs rather than evidence: God help us all.

A heartbeat away from the presidency? I have a lot of confidence in McCain's health. I reckon there is a greater risk of Obama being blown up by white supremacists.

About that: if Obama was assassinated before November, would Biden automatically inherit the candidacy or would Hillary get another shot (so to speak).

My vote is for Mccain/Palin. Look around the world & at U.S. states that practice what BHO espouses & see what goverment take over results in. Facism/Socialism don't feed the world or put people to work.

For what matters to me ie the US' foreign policy, I would likely choose Obama instead of Mc Cain, to be precise for fear of Mc Cain, since some of the neo con ideologues (Kagan and Kristol) will probably survive this administration and once again try to hijack the American diplomacy, notably against Iran and Russia.

They aren't "assault weapons," but we can own them in some states.

Taking ownership involves a lengthy process, and they are very expensive.
