Thanks! I found out Obama has quite the working relationship/friendship with Ayers, including: Ayers gave Obama the chairmanship of the Annenberg Challenge to reform schools in Chicago (a few months before his first run for office), which gave Obama $50M to distribute grants to schools; Ayers hosted Obama's first political fund raiser (at Ayers' home in 1995); Ayers introduced Obama to ACORN, which Obama became a major part of (ACORN is well known for voter fraud and is currently under investigation in several states for voter fraud shenanigans - all to benefit the Democrats); Ayers is also close to Michelle Obama.
Ayers dropped his violent part, but he still does nothing but spout socialist, anti-capitalist, anti-American drivel and guess what? This is the crap taught in Chicago public schools. (Oops, my bad. It's educational reform).
It appears as if Obama is downplaying/lying about/covering up this relationship, just like with his one-time campaign "spiritual advisor", Rev. Wright, whom he had a fairly close relationship for twenty years. Obama hasn't talked much about Rezko either.
Can Obama really bring up the "Keating 5". McCain was fully exonerated of involvement, but Senator John Glenn WAS found guilty of involvement in that mess, and guess what? He's one of Obama's advisors! Let's not forget Raines and Johnson, big players in the Freddie/Fannie debacle (also Obama advisors).

From what I've read, IMO, I think Obama is nothing more than the 21st century candidate for the Weather Underground. He's just in a new "non-violent" package. The socialist ideas are there in a nice slick suit with a charasmatic voice, just not the violence. People don't see it because we've been brow-beaten by the media's hateful, acidic anti-Bush rhetoric for eight years (of course Bush and the GOPs haven't helped the situation any).

Where is the report OBAMA got money from the PLO?
Obama endorsed by Hamas and receives campaign donations from terrorist hotbed | Obama States Of America I can get more if this isn't good enough?
Are you saying Palestinians donated and he returned the cash?
NO, I plainly wrote P-L-O... Palestinian Liberation Organization(terrorists R-us for short) and yes, he returned the cash, hes not stupid, even he knew that would look bad.
    All palestinians aren't terrorists.
    No sh1t! you're kidding.
If he returned the cash so what?
Point here is, they WANT him to be pres, they didn't McCain.....no greenbacks for Johnny!
Al Queda is rooting for Obama? Not very likely they want endless war. Read their "manifesto" after 911. Their goal was to destroy our economy. When did they say that?
If we leave leave before AQs asses are thouroughly whipped, they will claim victory and embolden more terrorists. Siimple as that. Be rational. First, you aren't Obama. What you wear or what you salute isn't at issue. Second, I was responding to Tim's question as to how one might infer a person's attitude toward their country by stringing together disparate signs and examining their words closely. The flag pin controversy was simply an example. Obama intellectualized his reasoning on that score. But he seems to distain appearances. If he doesn't understand the importance of appearances, how can he conduct foreign affairs, an arena where appearances can be more important than substance?

    Old news from CNN.

The Statement: Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin said Saturday, October 4, that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is "someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Watch: Is Obama a terrorist's pal?

    Get the facts!

The Facts: In making the charge at a fund-raising event in Englewood, Colorado, and a rally in Carson, California, Palin was referring at least in part to William Ayers, a 1960s radical. In both appearances, Palin cited a front-page article in Saturday's New York Times detailing the working relationship between Obama and Ayers.

In the 1960s, Ayers was a founding member of the radical Weather Underground group that carried out a string of bombings of federal buildings, including the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, in protest against the Vietnam War. The now-defunct group was labeled a "domestic terrorist group" by the FBI, and Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn — also a Weather Underground member — spent 10 years as fugitives in the 1970s. Federal charges against them were dropped due to FBI misconduct in gathering evidence against them, and they resurfaced in 1980. Both Ayers and Dohrn ultimately became university professors in Chicago, with Ayers, 63, now an education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood where Ayers and Dohrn live. Beginning in 1995, Ayers and Obama worked with the non-profit Chicago Annenberg Challenge on a huge school improvement project. The Annenberg Challenge was for cities to compete for $50 million grants to improve public education. Ayers fought to bring the grant to Chicago, and Obama was recruited onto the board. Also from 1999 through 2001 both were board members on the Woods Fund, a charitable foundation that gave money to various causes, including the Trinity United Church that Obama attended and Northwestern University Law Schools' Children and Family Justice Center, where Dohrn worked.

CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt told CNN that after meeting Obama through the Annenberg project, Ayers hosted a campaign event for him that same year when then-Illinois state Sen. Alice Palmer, who planned to run for Congress, introduced the young community organizer as her chosen successor. LaBolt also said the two have not spoken by phone or exchanged e-mail messages since Obama came to the U.S. Senate in 2005 and last met more than a year ago when they encountered each other on the street in their Hyde Park neighborhood.

The extent of Obama's relationship with Ayers came up during the Democratic presidential primaries earlier this year, and Obama explained it by saying, "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood … the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago — when I was 8 years old — somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense."

The McCain campaign did not respond Saturday to a request for elaboration on Palin's use of the plural "terrorists."

Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.
Now, before we start pointing fingers and calling names, note that in Palin's rally during one of her speeches accusing Obama as a terrorist, one man shouted "kill him!" in audible volume and was not given a warning by Palin, as Obama had in his own rally when his crowd booed at his mentioning of McCain. McCain is by his own reckoning "an old friend" to G. Gordon Liddy, a man who was convicted for the Watergate break in, professed that he had plotted to kill journalists and to firebomb a think tank, and called for violent resistance towards the US government. McCain had also voted against making anti-abortion violence a Federal Crime, including acts of arson, blockade and bombing, at 1994 and 1994.

Obama did not call McCain a terrorist coddler. Perhaps McCain should extend the courtsey.

Terrorists = Ayers and his wife/companion Dohrn.

See? That was easy for me and I'm not even a kiddie porn director. I mean journalist.

Sorry, Dalem. I missed your point. None of Obama's cooperations with Ayers gave aid, comfort, or made common cause with the Weatherman. Nor did he 'palled' Ayers.

As for the porn director epithet, do you have someone particular in mind?

I don't think Obama has talked about leaving Afganistan at all. Have you seen the head of nato forces calling for negotiations with the Taliban of all people this week????
Show me where the PLO is donating to Obama please. Now, how often does Hannitty mention Palins connection to the America hating AIP? Did you know Hannitty is so close to anti semites he invites them on his show? Measuring the connections of Palin to the AIP in "Ayers" it measures 5.2 Ayers. Now, measuring Hannitty's connection to anti semites and it is 26 Ayers since He was cozying up to them on national TV. Can you really believe what you hear from someone who supports and America hating party and an anti semite?
Sean Hannity, Robert Gibbs and anti-Semitism: How to go on Fox News
For the third debate in a row, actual polling data last night (as well as uncommitted focus groups) revealed that most Americans believe that the Democratic candidate (Obama/Biden) won decisively. In stark contrast, this is what the poll of Fox News viewers found:

In the real world among Americans, Obama won the debate by 15-30 points, but in Fox News World, McCain won the debate by 86-12%. That’s what Fox News is and who their viewers are: a right-wing propaganda outlet with an almost entirely unpersuadable viewership. For that reason, I don’t understand why the Obama campaign helps legitimize them as a real news network by appearing on Fox programs. But the Obama campaign obviously disagrees and regularly does so.

Agree or disagree with that tactical choice, any Democrat preparing to go on Fox News should study how Obama communications director Robert Gibbs mauled Sean Hannity last night and copy and learn from it as though it is Scripture (video below). First, a bit of background: in the 1980s and 1990s, Anthony Martin-Trigona was well-known to New York litigators as a source of warped entertainment, wonderment and universal disgust.

For years, Martin-Trigona ran around continuously suing so many random people on a pro se basis — and when he would lose, he would then sue the lawyers who represented the parties he sued and the judges who ruled against him — that the Second Circuit Court of Appeals actually barred him from commencing any further judicial process without prior authorization, an unprecedented and truly extraordinary order. Some of that history is set forth here. Martin-Trigona would file so many new, rambling lawsuits and motions on a virtually daily basis that, as the Second Circuit pointed out, it actually became impossible for courts even to process: “Martin-Trigona’s voluminous filings have ‘inundated’ the District of Connecticut and his activities have burdened judicial operations to the point of impairing the administration of justice.”

It wasn’t just the quantity but the content that made his litigious behavior so notable. The documents he filed were routinely filled with the most extreme anti-Semitic venom one could find anywhere this side of Mein Kampf. The lawsuits were often based on the theory that a cabal of Jewish judges, lawyers and government officials were conspiring against him, and the Complaints he filed would be filled with artfully-constructed allegations along these lines:

Paragraph 8: On July 12, 1988, the plaintiff-Jew met with aforementioned Jew lawyer to prepare for hearing with the Jew judge.
That’s a paraphrase from memory, but it’s a quite accurate illustration of what his documents routinely contained. In 1986, he ran for Congress in Illinois under this campaign committee: “The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America,” and he wrote sympathetically of the Holocaust. As The Washington Times described this year:
In a New York bankruptcy case, he referred to a judge as a “crooked, slimy Jew.” During the bankruptcy dispute, he filed a civil-rights lawsuit claiming Jewish bankruptcy judges and lawyers were conspiring to steal his property. He asked a court to bar “any Jew from having anything to do with plaintiff’s property.”

In another motion in the case, he wrote: “I am able to understand how the Holocaust took place, and with every passing day feel less and less sorry that it did, when Jew survivors are operating as a wolf pack to steal my property.”

An Obama critic hannity has buddied up to. MMM If he hates Obama then Mccain must the choice of anti-semites? More likely he just hates blacks and jews but He was still a guest on faux news. I think it's ridiculous to invite anti-semites on one night and then claim obama is the candidate of the PLO. Hannitty is to news now what Father Tom Coughlin was. He stokes peoples fears and uses them to help advance a political agenda that in the end has been contrary to their best interests.

Hannity interviews all kinds of people. From klansmen to black panthers and he gives every one of them the same treatment. Sounds to me like you've been getting your info from the Hannity haters. Its all a matter of perspective. Do you think if Rush and Hannity and these guys where actually telling flat out lies that the Dems wouldn't slap a lible suit on them in a heartbeat? They can back up everything they are saying and there is an open invite to Obama or any of the others to come on thier show anytime. But they won't because these guys are experts at getting the facts and none of the Dems can refute a thing they are saying. Silence is guilt IMO. There is a reason that conservative talk radio is one of the biggest and fastest growing media over recent years. Glenn Beck is top rated, at of all places CNN. Even the ole Clinton news network can read the writing on the wall. Hey, hows Air America doing lately?

Well, Air America lies and there is no libel suit. I know they lie. I would no more listen to that drivel than Rush or beck or hannitty. They are Father Tom Coughlin redux as surely as Air America would of been on Gus Halls favorites list.

Here's the thing that guy wasn't there to talk about his extremist views. He was brought on as a "mainstream" faux perspective on Obama. He was there as an "expert" on Obama's secret agenda. He is a total nutjob and was foisted on you as expert opinion. At what point do you realize you are watching political theater and propaganda. How many more times have his experts been excrement? When was the last time anyone but Faux had anyone quite so nutty on to give expert unchallenged opinion about a Candidate? I didn't knoew anyone could put in so many anti-Semitic references in one sentence of one lawsuit.

In case you didn't realize this was the guy she fired for being insubordinate and seeking money from the feds to go after sex crimes including child abuse that was available, or she promoted him, or she fired him for giving her guff about her kids not wearing seatbelts in pictures or because he complained he coudnt get enough rides on Alaska's plane...or after that many different reasons it comes down to Occam's razor and she fired him for refusing to participate in a personal vendetta of hers. Now me given the number of reasons she has given on different occasions and given his record and experience i am going with vendetta

McCain mentioned this during the debate but gave no details. Here are a few details. This is a give-away, but it would offset public anger at the apparent give-aways being given to the banking industry. (from McCain website)

    Homeownership Resurgence Plan

John McCain will direct his Treasury Secretary to implement an American Homeownership Resurgence Plan (McCain Resurgence Plan) to keep families in their homes, avoid foreclosures, save failing neighborhoods, stabilize the housing market and attack the roots of our financial crisis. America’s families are bearing a heavy burden from falling housing prices, mortgage delinquencies, foreclosures, and a weak economy. It is important that those families who have worked hard enough to finance homeownership not have that dream crushed under the weight of the wrong mortgage. The existing debts are too large compared to the value of housing. For those that cannot make payments, mortgages must be re-structured to put losses on the books and put homeowners in manageable mortgages.

The McCain Resurgence Plan would purchase mortgages directly from homeowners and mortgage servicers, and replace them with manageable, fixed-rate mortgages that will keep families in their homes. By purchasing the existing, failing mortgages the McCain resurgence plan will eliminate uncertainty over defaults, support the value of mortgage-backed derivatives and alleviate risks that are freezing financial markets.

The McCain resurgence plan would be available to mortgage holders that:
Live in the home (primary residence only)

Can prove their creditworthiness at the time of the original loan (no falsifications and provided a down payment).
The new mortgage would be an FHA-guaranteed fixed-rate mortgage at terms manageable for the homeowner. The direct cost of this plan would be roughly $300 billion because the purchase of mortgages would relieve homeowners of “negative equity” in some homes. Funds provided by Congress in recent financial market stabilization bill can be used for this purpose; indeed by stabilizing mortgages it will likely be possible to avoid some purposes previously assumed needed in that bill.

The plan could be implemented quickly as a result of the authorities provided in the stabilization bill, the recent housing bill, and the U.S. government's conservatorship of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It may be necessary for Congress to raise the overall borrowing limit.
