No it's not. Terrorism is killing innocent women and children. Bombing a supermarket on payday is the same as the RUF in Sierra Leone cutting the hands off anyone that voted.

Nor it should excuse brutal suppression of one's inalienable rights through gov't sanctioned murder and brutality.

So the oppressed should take it and suck it up while not doing anything? I don't buy that. There's a limit to civil disobedience and violence is justified when all means of obtaining one's inalienable rights fail. The government you have fought for had taken away inalienable rights and brutalized and suppressed those who dare to restore their inalienable rights.

What does that have to do with the ANC being declared a terrorist organization? I don't think the ANC has bombed anybody lately. If you had said the ANC in it's current form was not a terrorist organisation I might have agreed with you.

Very easy to say that your cousins are dying when those oppressed people are fighting back to redress the wrongs done against them.

Face it, your gov't and your cousins which I am guessing were South Africans had it coming when they started oppressing those natives in their own land.

My government? I'm an American, born and raised here. Oppressing natives in their own land? Give me a break. My South African relations have lived there for three hundred years. That's just about the same length of time my American relations have lived here. Just for the record my inlaws didn't die easy and saying they had it coming is insulting.

I'm more than OK with Mandela being removed from the "watch" list. Should have been done long ago. I like the man and have shaken his hand. What I do object to is white washing the actions of the ANC during the Border War.

"Terrorist" is a modern concept, pregnant with meaning that we really can't project backwards into history. But stretching the definition arguendo, sure, what's your point? Have you forgotten the aphorism that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter?
