If McCain gets the nomination, I can imagine that a 'Ross Perot' type independent will come in as a third candidate. It could then get very interesting, especially if Obama gets the Democratic nomination.

Huckabee would have to get around 80% of all remaining delegates... that is not going to happen.

If McCain gets the nomination, I can imagine that a 'Ross Perot' type independent will come in as a third candidate. It could then get very interesting, especially if Obama gets the Democratic nomination.

Why? And who? The Republicans have the example of Ross Perot to show how well that would go. An ultra-conservative candidate running would simply pave the way for their worst enemy (Hillary or Obama) into the White House, and forever alienate them and whoever endorsed them from the Republican Party. And they would deserve the blame too.

Including a colour that was not green would make the above line graph much more understandeable.

I cannot escape amusement at the fact that the 'AM' Kingmakers Limbaugh & Hannity, having sparred so severely with McCain & Huckabee were basically left with the choice of endorsing Ron Paul or no one. They more or less chose no one.

A Ross Perot type independent isn't viable with John McCain running as the Republican candidate. McCain's nomination is not a matter of "if", but when.

Yeah, it's time to get behind McCranky and push.
