    Obama, Huckabee win Iowa

    Obama, Huckabee win Iowa caucuses, CNN projects

    DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) -- Barack Obama will win the Iowa Democratic caucus and Mike Huckabee will be the Republican winner, CNN projects.

    With 88 percent of precincts reporting, Obama had the support of 37 percent of voters, compared to 30 percent for Edwards and 30 percent for Clinton.

    "The numbers tell us this was a debate between change and experience, and change won," said CNN political analyst Bill Schneider.

    With 66 percent of Republican precincts reporting, Huckabee had the support of 34 percent of voters, compared to 25 percent for Mitt Romney. Fred Thompson had 14 percent, John McCain had 13 percent and Ron Paul had 10 percent.

    Rudy Giuliani, who has turned the focus of his campaign to the February 5 "Super Tuesday" primaries, trailed with 4 percent.

    Huckabee's victory can be attributed to his overwhelming support among evangelical voters and women, according to CNN analysis of entrance polls.

    Ugh. Huck reminds me of the stereotype of a bumpkin used car salesman. Plus he reminds me of Clinton.

    Ugh.

    I was taken aback with what Obama garnered actually. Didn't think that he would get that large of a percentage. Huckabee.......hmmmm, well the "experts" had that one picked for awhile so not an eye-opener there.

    Be careful of what you wish for. Obama is a far bigger threat to this country than Clinton. He's a genuine big government high tax socialist. He will fight terrorism by using law enforcement rather than the military and engage them at the source overseas.

    I used to not like him and not trust him just because he gave me the creeps.

    Now I know I don't like him because he's a socialist.

    Only two Republicans I simply won't vote for, even if we end up with what has o be three of the very worst Democrats as the opposition: Huckabee and Paul. And Huckabee won Iowa tonight. God DAYUM.

    If McCain rises from the dead and becomes the GOP nominee, I'll be as bitter as I can be, but, because he's rock-solid on my One Big Issue - the war - I'll hold my nose and vote for him.

    I prefer Fred, but his star may set soon. Romney next, Guiliani after that.

    But not friggin' Mike friggin' Huckabee. NEVER. Besides, he'll get slaughtered in the general election.

    Wow did you guys catch the news reporting on Obama winning Iowa? They just couldn't leave out the part that he's an "African American."

    Blues, why not Huckabee? I like him because he makes fun of himself all the time. I like people who can make fun of themselves. It means they don't take themselves too seriously and thus less bossy. Less bossy = less government.

    I could be totally wrong, but that's my impression.

    Huckabee = Bill Clinton + small town used car salesman/mayor.

    If Huckabee gets the GOP nomination...

    I'll be tempted to not vote.

    Yuck. Haven't done that since I was a wet-nosed knowitall.

    Bluesman;
    I simply won't vote for: Huckabee and Paul
    I may disagree with Paul on Iraq, but he has several good points on that subject, and his other beliefs are so identical to mine it's scary.

    Completely agree in regards to Huckabee. He’s too much like Bush –too liberal.

    This has GOT to be Bush's fault.
    EVERYTHING is Bush's fault.

    Ray;
    Feel sorry for Hilary.
    Me too... not.

    ...

    I'll be tempted to not vote.
    That makes sense. Tell me, where is the logic in that?

    stan;
    The rest of the world is hoping for a Democrat.

    I think if the rest of the world is hoping for a democrat, we should automatically vote republican just to spite...

    Honestly, the U.S.' interest is only the care of Americans, rightfully so. And considering that fact, if the world supports one sect within the U.S., we can assume that the US' best interests are not in the equation that results in that support, correct? Therefore, that sect deserves the suspicion of Americans. Follow? Capice?

    And you're wrong -Israel, Taiwan, etc., are hoping for a Republican. Israel's reaction, especially, was one of grave concern after the 2006 mid-term.
