I like McCain for his honesty and guts in taking on unpopular issues. Also, I think anyone who spent 5 years in a N.Vietnamese prison camp isn't much afraid of political consequences.

But I like Thompson too because he said his motivation to run was in part to fix Social Security and he wasn't afraid to get out in front on the issue. SS threatens to bankrupt the country. The issue will be one of his vulnerabilties when he runs seeing as how the dems are well practiced in scaring the hell out of seniors that they'll lose their benefits if a republican so much as breathes on the issue.
