I agree there BR!!!! When I worked nights out in the boonies I always carried a Ruger Redhawk in .44 Mag... We had lots of construction going on and people would try to steal things. The gun wasn't to be a hero or anything. I would just use the binoculars to try to get a license and then phone it in. The problem was, this was very hilly country and you might crest a hill or turn a corner and run right into them. I had the gun in case they started shooting at me and disabled my vehicle. Because like you said, it's one thing to shoot at people, it's another thing if they are shooting back at you…. I figured a .44 caliber hand cannon might give them something to think about…..
