Canada Oh Canada.

They want to play on the world stage. But they dont have(or wont spend?) the funds.

So they are torn. Disavow the U.S. or work closely with them.

Our two navies have worked closely together for decades. OTOH that cant always be said about the two countries in general.

Having a Canadian Frigate in a USN Task Force is a major plus. With the new helos it would be even more than that.

The proposed new Replenishment/transport ships are intriguing and would give Canada the option they want of working with the U.S., another ally or in limited situations going it alone.

The lack of a coherent plan for replacing the Tribals or updating the Halifax class is troubling.

The ex-UK sub buy isnt at least so far proving particularly wise. OTOH what better choice did they have?

Me personnally? Ill sail and fight side by side with any Canuck that would have me. John Candy was/is my hero and Im only a skinny little runt. LOL

David Shirlaw owner of of Seawaves.com based in North Vancouver BC I think would vouch for my veracity. His site is down until the weekend but it is a must for anyone serious about World Navies.

If I havent answered you well enough throw some more questions at me. I live for it. LOL
