Whike it might be a good thing,I do not think ad hoc units should be encouraged. They need to be either somehow assimilated in the military or disbanded. While they are useful,they are dangerous in the end. They could use unacceptable methods and might be at loggerheads with the government simply because they do not answer to the military. And this kind of units might spell trouble for the government if they become dissiliusioned. I might be wrong,but then I am not military..
