For me (that I know of):

- Zulu War - British Army (he was at Rorke's Drift, the battle in "Zulu")
- Civil War - US Army

My dad was ordered to report to the recruiting station on May 4th 1970 to go to Vietnam, but he was disqualified because he had flat feet lol. Ive also had numerous other relatives in the British Army, but I dont know when. And im sure I have had more in the US military.
Father: WW II (he helped liberate a concentration camp).

Uncle: what some call WW III. He was a CIA spook in Germany at the height of the Cold War in the late 1960s!!!!

Fiancee's grandfather (if he counts; this one's pretty amazing): a bona fide Red Army hero at the evacuation of St. Petersburg/Leningrad, became a general and participated in the final assault on the Reichstag!

Hey, does anyone share with me the bemusement that America supposedly beat Hitler? Do you know how many Soviet citizens died defeating him? Is this not a bias of history that begs correction?

Me (just a wimpy blackbelt): hope to fight in the real World War III if one of those fundo nut morons jumps up and attacks a stewardess on an airplane. That would be kinda fun... (Apart from that, I might aptly be described, as per Jesse Ventura, as a "chicken hawk"--very hawkish in my view that evil should be fought unapologetically and head on, with the full unfettered force of our military, as we're doing--more or less adeptly--in Iraq. It's unfair, I know, because I've never been in combat, but I have fought a criminal once, before my training, and would again in a heartbeat if the situation presents itself.)
