Also hull-coatings are now used either in place of or in conjunction with tiles.
Their is a picture on page 778 in the 1990 Edition of "COMBAT FLEETS of the WORLD" of an LA class sub puportedly showing a tile pattern but I would never have known if the caption hadnt alerted me.
